Where are you at in Louisiana? I am around Lafayette and could use some help setting up a reef aquarium.
Just wondering.

Hi malinois1,
I'm about 100 miles east of you in Ponchatoula (near Hammond). I'm afraid I'm unable to help right now because I'm recovering from cataract surgery in both eyes and I won't be tested for a new eyeglasses prescription until January. The only way I can read my computer monitor is to set it at 200%.
Good luck!

Yes, I thought it was an impressive performance myself. The 21-point margin of victory is the same margin they beat the then-undefeated Giants by several weeks ago.
I'm just glad they got a win Monday night because the people in New Orleans were so amped up over that game that a defeat would have been devasting. That game was the equivalent of the Super Bowl that they have never had. Now they expect the Saints to go undefeated. The problem is that now every team they play will be gunning for them.
The Saints can't lose sight of the fact that Bret Favre and the Vikings are 10-1, so if they expect to have home field advantage throughout, they need to stay one step ahead of the Vikings.

Minnesota's loss was out of the conference, so that basically makes them undefeated also as far as home field advantage goes. Both teams have to keep winning. Both teams have a couple of tough teams left, and some teams that could be a "trap game". It is gonna get interesting!

The Saints have to play the Redskins this Sunday on the road. That could be a trap game because it will be on the road following a short week and the Saints will be still coming down from the high they're on right now. I would worry about this game even more than the Cowboys in Dallas.
It's still possible for the Saints to go all the way, in which case they would have home field for the NFC championship game, but if they do lose a game, I sure home it's out of conference like the Vikes.

They play the Cowboys in New Orleans, don't they?

No, they play them in the new billion-dollar dome in Texas that Jerry Jones built.
Hey, you're right! I don't know why I kept thinking that they have to play them on the road.
Wow! That will be another interesting game. The crowd in the Superdome will drive Romo to distraction even more than Jessica Simpson.

Glad you x'd that out. Romo can't play in December anyways.

Here's their remaining schedule: @Redskins, @Falcons, Cowboys, Buccaneers, @Panthers. All Sunday games and all on FOX except for the Cowboys game which is only on NFL network. Of course, locally it will be on NBC. In fact, even this last Monday Night game against the Patriots was carried locally on NBC as well as on ESPN. (67% of homes in the New Orleans area were tuned in to the Saints-Patriots game). The national audience was the second highest in the history of Monday Night football.
P.S. -- The Buccaneers almost had them in the first game in Tampa and now they get to play them again in the dome. That should be fun!![]()

It's possible for the Saints to go all the way but it's more likely that they will lose one or two games between now and the playoffs. They had to come back from a 24-point deficit in one game and they tried very hard to give away another game in the last two minutes because they started celebrating too early and not paying attention to the possibility that the other team could come back on them.
I would say that it's better than even money that they lose at least one game before the playoffs. That's just the way it is. It's extremely hard to run the table in the NFL. Any team can jump up and have a good day against you.

The only problem I see is if they lose a conference game, then the Vikes will have home field if they win out.

That must be a typo, huh?

It's on CBS.
Apparently it's a typo. At first I was wondering if maybe the game time had been changed at the last minute but all of the other online sources, including CBS, still have it coming on at 4 p.m. ET.

I am going to bet that I will not get to see the whole game because the Montana vs Stephen Austin game will probably air here locally on my CBS channel. That game starts at noon my time.

We had an inch or two of snow last night. That's a big deal down here. We had 6-8" of snow on Dec. 10, 2008, which was the heaviest snowfall on record for my town. New Orleans had 2" on that day.
To put this in perspective, it has only snowed 17 times in New Orleans in the past 150 years! Make that 17 times prior to last Dec. 10th. If New Orleans, which is 50 miles southeast of me, had any measureable snowfall last night, then that makes it 17 times in the past century and a half for New Orleans.
It just doesn't snow down here. Sometimes we go 15-20 without any measureable snow.
Right now -- 9:50 a.m. CT -- it's 35 degrees but it's supposed to get up to 56 F by this afternoon. The local weather bureau is calling this a severe winter weather alert.![]()
