For all those who have browsed RC used equipment forum hunting for a deal on a piece of equipment, you now must have a post count of at least 50 post before they will allow you to even see the for sale or trade forum, figured I'd post this and let everyone know that their store is closed unless you have the 50 post min.

I think just about everyone already knows that and you left off the part about 90 days. You have to have at least 50 real posts and be a member of the board for 90 days. And that's not a new policy, that has been their policy for some time now -- well over a year at least.

There are good reasons why they have gone to that extreme but I think it's a little harsh. They have 230,000 members. Their point is that their for-sale forums are intended as a perk for their active members and not something that should be open to the general public. That's the decision the board's management has made. They made that decision after deciding that their for-sale-or-trade forums were getting out of hand.

Instead of 50 posts and 90 days, I think 90-day membership or maybe even just 30-day membership should be enough regardless of the number of posts. Some potential new hobbyists may not have any posts yet they are seriously considering entering the hobby. Just my two cents.



P.S. -- Just in case you're thinking of posting "nice tank" or "nice coral" or "nice fish" in 50 different threads, that won't work. And posts in The Lounge don't count either. They have to be what RC calls real posts.
