Passports? Check.

Connecting flights between LAX and Reno? Check. Academic certification for PADI open water? Check

T-minus 18 days and counting. Rarotonga, here we come. Can you tell I'm excited? Haven't had a 2 week vacation in years and this time all our boys are coming and getting to dive. Our whole certification course will end up costing $144 dollars per person too! What a deal(exchange rates are a good thing )! That on-line academic section course only cost us $26 dollars per person!

Aragorn:

I'm extremely jealous.

Enjoy diving! It is an very safe sport which can be done by people of all ages, but remember, there are 101 ways to get in serious trouble scuba diving. Don't hesitate to tell your divemaster that you aren't comfortable with his/her dive plan if you aren't.

I've seen experienced tech divers get bent because they weren't prepared to do the dives they did, and I've witnessed some terrible resort courses.

Are you taking a camera?

Remember you don't HAVE to do every dive...

My first diving trip...One day the conditions were terrible, current=strong, wind=strong, anyway during my saftey stop i ended up losing my weight belt because the current was so strong. We (dad and I) came up, he blew chunks cuz we just ate b-fast b4 the dive and it was a terrible dive...ick, but anyway have a GREAT time, And definatley have fun...

Hey folks,

Yep, we'll be taking an underwater camera and the outfit we'll be diving w/ sounds really good. They have spots all around the island, so they pick the best conditions for the day. We'll be happy w/ any of them. I'm sure we won't dive everyday though. There is a trail that goes over the island from one side to the other that I want to walk too. It's not a very big island, but I'm sure there's enough to keep us busy for the 2 weeks(kayaking, hobie cats, snorkeling, chillin'). I'll try to post while I'm there too. I'm taking a laptop to download the pic's to. Thank guys!
