Idea for law to help fish not die

Who thinks we should try to get a law passed that pet store employees MUST ask customers buying aquatic animals how big and old their tank is, and maybe how many fish in it? I know some stores that do this, and think if all stores did this it would help. Maybe also a law that pet store staff cannot tell people to do things that will end up being bad for the critters. Anyone know how to go about getting these laws passed?
I really hate it when people say "it's only a $3/$5/$1 fish/shrimp, so it's ok if it dies" TREAT ALL ANIMALS LIKE THEY COST $10,000!!!!!!http://dragcave.net/image/QnMBQ.gifhttp://dragcave.net/image/DCQDb.gifhttp://dragcave.net/image/8qT9W.gifhttp://dragcave.net/image/CP52M.gifhttp://dragcave.net/image/P7mZ4.gifplease click a link, it's nothing bad.

I'm in my third year of law school so I can help a bit. Start small. Go to your local town council first . Email or send a certified letter to your districts councilman and attend a meeting to propose the law. That's the best place to start

Re: Idea for law to help fish not die

I hope not .. and after the first pet store turns them down , they go to the next one and this time LIE ... wouldn't take the newly wed couple that just moved in and have an ice cold 10g freshly setup to figure out they have to say they have a 125g running for 1 year with only 2 fish to get anything they want ... If people want to do it, they'll find a way ... How about volunteering at your LFS or working their part time and doing your part to educate them before a purchase ?

I know it wouldn't help with people who just don't care, but it would help keep people from getting bad advice and having 3 tangs and a mandarin in a 1 week old 10g
