Thoughts on Drilling ANWR?

Anybody have a thought or opinion on this one?

I'm am against it, for reasons I will post when I have a little more time, but the short of it is this, If I thought they would drill responsibly, and adequately clean up anymesses they made, I'd be for it, but they won't. We could also do a lot of conservation/usage reduction that would ease the strain on our resources at hand, and we don't do that, either. I'll spell it out in greater detail later, meanwhile, have some fun.....

Who is Anwar, and why do you want to drill him?

I'm sorry that the Reefland BB has come to threats of violence.

I think it is time the oil companys release their strangle hold on the economy. If i said what i feel toward Dubyha because of his approval of this i would be arrested by the secret service. I hope all the oil companys find is ice and snow.

WHERE's THAT BUSH

REpublicans (not a spelling error)
I for one harbor no political ideology. I want only waht is best in the matter of our natural resources. To Drill for oil in the ANWR is insanity and greed drives. BIG OIL has a foot hold in the congress and white house. I don't pretend to know everthing about running a country but I sure as hell wouldn't be off on a month long vacation less than one year after I started a job. Who start a new job and then gets a month off. Employers wpold fire you and I want to fire DUBYA!! Why Drill for oil that won't hit the market for several years??? Oil that will make only a difference in term of the financail situations of the companies . OPEC could just keep cutting production. The answer to not relying on foreing oil is to put mony in to R/D for renewable resources. NO lets not drill a hole every time there is a shortage or price increase. Hole are for burying not sloving problems!!!!
I do not belong to green peace!!!!!! But DUBYA should!!!!!!

I for one am very glad our leader has the intelligence and foresight to realize that we cannot just cater to environmentalist wackos. There are plenty of wolves and tundra species in the zoos and stuffed in museums. Oil is what makes this country great and helped keep us from slipping into the clutches of the Godless communists. It is a pity the arctic tundra has to go, but profits need to be made to keep the economy afloat so we don't slip into the clutches of a recession.

Short sighted is the term I would use. As for environmental wakos: It is first essential to understand that the oil will not hit the markets for some years. That the impact will be but a drop in the perverbial bucket. That oil is not an infinite source of fuel. That the communist do not control the oil. The communist you speak of (china perhaps?) control nuclear war heads not oil. The definition of insanity is to repeat the same behavoirs and still expect to see improved results. Inovation fuels an economy, not oil.

Let Bush drill!

I can add it to my ever-growing "I told you so" collection.

Well somebody has to fill in for Aragorn while he is off drowning his children.

Schro: Don't forget the "I hope you are happy now" refrain.

YOu will be happy to know that on my Nader 2000 bumper-sticker on the back of my hypocritical car that gets 18 miles to the gallon, I have pasted on an appropriate-sized 4 to underscore that I am unrepentant.

Wink

wg,

Nader huh?
I must admit, the 2004 thing looks pretty feasible.
If they drill and spill...the Republicans will be out of power for a long...long...time.
I'm still dig'n McCain...but no other Republicans seem to agree with me!

I will probably vote Nader in 2004.
If he wins, I might be able to watch my hippie friends squirm as he "changes before their eyes"...heh.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

I wasn't suggesting he become chairman of the Federal Reserve, only President.
