Keeping Uromastyx (sp?)

Well, looks like I may have to tear down my 55 gallon due to new furniture here @ work... I was thinking of trading it into the lfs for store credit... they also sell lizzards and other types of small pets. What would I need to setup a small home for a uromastyx? Can it be small or does it need to be fairly large? I may also be interested in selling my equipment to local people, I really do not want to ship. Englighten me guys :-)

Greg

Sounds like some sort of growth that the doc should cut out...

The main thing is they like it hot, a 100 degree basking spot will suit them but they need room so they can get away from the hot spot. They don't really drink from a bowl but get most of their water from their food, and they will also absorb water through their skin. As I remember they like veggies but will also eat alfafla cubes. check out http://www.kingsnake.com they might have some care sheets on them.

We have a pair of Mali Uro's in a 55 gallon, for one a 30 gallon should be ok. Like Ranaman said they need a very hot basking spot and a cool side of the tank to go to if they want. Ours will drink from a bowl, we feed ours mustard greens, turnip greens, green beans, brussel sprouts, crickets and super worms.
