I may have jumped the gun a bit. From the way that my mother described it, it seemed that someone redirected the e-mail with a Reefland.com e-mail address as the sender. Sadly, my mother deleted it before I could check it out.

I think what happened is that my mother pushed the back button one too many times and winded up here. I set up I.E. to open Reefland.com be default and she uses Hotmail from the browser for e-mail (we use the same computer). She simply got the whole mess mixed up. She has been getting a lot of junk mail from porn sites for some reason. Neither of us can figure out why.

Again, I apologize. Hearing her describe it shocked me a little. I was not accusing anyone here, but posting a message for someone watching. For all I knew, it could have been done by a guest. I have gotten on the bad side of a banned Aqualink member by the handle of Short393. He has a habit of hacking these boards and recking havoc. Please understand that I at no time thought it was a member of this board.

Sorry to tell you, but it sounds like your 'puter has a virus.

What you describe is exactly like what several viruses are doing right now, where they read cookies or other text information from your computer, use a web address you have been to as a reply address, and points to several different predetermined web addressess (some of them adult related) and sends this out to your email addresses using MS WAB, PST, and a couple others.

Sounds like you need to scan you and your mothers 'puter because now she is infected as well.

You might want to apologize to everyone here at reefland as well...

Sorry to hear about all this....Can I plez make a suggestion.

FIREWALL!! you need to shut all your ports down that arent being used and also use a Virus protection program (my prefered is Norton)
these are very basic hacks which can more than likely be prevented! Also be carefull of the programs you install like Morpheus, Kazaa, Napster etc etc....these are an open invitation to your system
