VoIP and VPN via ADSL IPsec tunnel

It's ALIVE!!! Just finished installing at 2 office locations w/ ADSL, IPsec routers(Nortel Contivity), and Nortel BCM(Business Communications Manager) phone switches. Pretty slick! These 2 offices are 40 miles apart and the satellite office runs their Unix based medical app via the IPsec tunnel to the main office. Setup a 2nd tunnel to route all their VoIP(Voice over IP) traffic between the BCM's. The phones are standard digital sets too(not IP phones). They were paying for long distance between the 2 offices before. Not any more! Now all they have to do is dial the extension in the remote office and...VIOLA! Bye Bye long distance charges! Works flawlessly w/ minimal impact to bandwidth. Very nice solution for data and voice. They're also happy they don't have to pay for a T1 anymore. I'm happy. Just thought I'd share w/ my fellow IT geeks

Cool...

Most people probably don't know half of what you said, but its very satisfying getting all that to work right, isn't it?

Yes it is very satisfying. I was initially concerned over the bandwidth(running apps AND voice concurrently) and latency of running VoIP over ADSL. Works great though. No echo, garbling, or cutouts. Certainly far better than having a conversation over cellular.
