I think they ship free for another week...
That's a deal maker.
It ships with a 32MB Nvidia GeForce2 MX AGP Graphics Card and an Ok sized drive. It's got the memory...
The monitor is smaller than I like, I'd prefer a 19-21".
Could you build this machine for less?...Yes, you'd have to OEM or pirate the OS though.
Would it be black (highly desirable by the way)?....No way!
**anybody can find a cheap black case...now go find me a cheap black 56x CDW or floppy that matches.
Would the machine you build have a 3 year on site warranty...Nope.
(that's where the gearheads say goodbye to the retail channel...usually we fix our own stuff or upgrade it before it becomes an issue)
I say go for it...

I'd say a Dell comp. is a good choice, unless you can build one your self. DIY I think is the best way to go to get the most for your money,IMHO...Check out WWW.DXMUSA.COM they have some great prices and are a reliable source. I've used them for years without any problems. I just bought a "Book PC" from them, it's about the size of a shoe box and it comes with matching hardware (cd-rom,floppy,k.b. and mouse) All you do is select a CPU, Hard Drive and memory. Once you get to their page, click on "Complete Sysyems" on the right. You'll find the book PC near the bottom.

Timing has an awful lot to do with the outcome of a rain dance.
I recommend Dell. They seem to have great customer service. We have a lot of Dell computers here at work. This week we have had two laptop hard drives crash. I called Dell yesterday at 4:00PM to see if the computers were still under warranty. They were and the hard drives arrived at the office at 9:00AM this morning.

Never be afraid to try something new.

Yep, my laptop is dell as well as all the 'puters at work... if you are not gonna build it yourself I would recommend Dell before anyone else.
One of the few computer companies out there that I can say have their act together.
Play well

I bought a Dell 8 months ago and love it. I would go for it. The Dellnet by MSN Internet service is crap though, even if it is free for a year.
As a nation, you're faced with the choice of taking over the world or offering good eats at reasonable prices.
The plan is to upgrade the RAM to 256, the monitor to a 19", hard drive to 40 gig. The CD-ROM will be upgraded to a 8X/4X/32X CD-RWD/DVD Combo.
Thanks for your help

Here is someone you may want to look at also.

I know the time to buy a PC is now (they always say NOW is the best time) I'm just holding off to see what Dell has to offer in the next few weeks.....
