STANWOOD, Wash. (AP) -- A naked man wandering near a movie theater led authorities to his marijuana-growing operation after they asked him what he did for a living, police said.

Moviegoers and diners near the theater's courtyard said the man was walking around naked in plain view. The man told police officers he just felt like being naked.

An officer writing a ticket for indecent exposure asked the man what he did for a living, and the man said he grew marijuana.

The man, whose identity was being withheld, led officers to a shed behind his home on nearby Camano Island, about 35 miles north of Seattle.

There they found 80 marijuana plants, the police report said. The man picked a large bud from a plant and handed it to an officer.

In a written statement to police, he said: "I grow marijuana for fun and profit, to support myself and my family, to help bring us a better life." He also said he was growing marijuana for his sick father and for other "medically ill people."

The man's wife told police she had never been inside her husband's shed, but that was where he did his artwork and practiced with his yo-yo.
