Wow! I had no idea so many people "helped this happen." This conspiracy could be much wider than anyone ever imagined.
Falwell (Thursday morning, 9/13/01, on the 700 Club): "I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People for the American Way--all of them who have tried to secularize America--I point the finger in their face and say, 'You helped this happen.' " The Rev. Pat Robertson was sitting right there on the set with the Rev. Jerry Falwell--flanked by tacky plastic plants--and replied, "I agree with you on that." Falwell's statement of 9/14/01 telling us that some of us may have been misled by slanted news reports that tried to distort his views: "Despite the impression some may have from news reports today, I hold no one other than the terrorists and the people and nations who have enabled and harbored them responsible for Tuesday's attacks on this nation." Statement from Pat Robertson, 9/14/01, telling us that we didn't understand what we think we heard, and besides, he was there and he didn't hear it: "There are organizations within the United States that have labored unceasingly to strip religious values from our public square and, in the process, to take away the mantle of divine protection which our nation has enjoyed ever since the days of its founding. However, in no way has any guest on my program suggested that anyone other than the Middle East terrorists were responsible for the tragic events that took place on Tuesday." Statement from Pat Robertson, 9/17/01, after careful consideration of the financial impact a too-cosy association with Rev. Falwell's remarks could have on his own ministries: "Rev. Falwell's initial remarks were completely in accord with what had been said in preceding parts of the program, and then, unexpectedly, he uttered a political statement of blame directed at certain segments of the population that was severe and harsh in tone and, frankly, not fully understood by the three hosts of The 700 Club who were watching Rev. Falwell on a monitor." Revised explanation from the Rev. Falwell, posted on his website 9/17/01--known as the "In retrospect" version: "In retrospect, I should have mentioned the national sins without mentioning the organizations and persons by name." Looks like the "In retrospect" version wasn't getting the job done from a financial impact point of view, if you know what I mean. So, on Sept. 18th., the Rev. Falwell issued a new and improved explanation, the one I like to call the "full scale retreat" version: Now Falwell says his comments were "insensitive, uncalled for at the time, and unnecessary as part of the commentary on this destruction." Reports that the Rev. Falwell is doing a retrospective reexamination of the status of Tinkie Winkie as a secret gay recruiter cannot be confirmed at this time. Sources say that the Rev. Falwell has done enough retrospecting and retracting for one week and is now taking a much needed mental health break. Ninong ![]() |

The 700 club is actualy the combined IQ for all the fools who pay attention to their jibberish. I think there was a scare a few years ago when they thought they may have to call it the 713 club. But after careful research they relized the latest victum put down their shoe size for iq by mistake. All is well in la la land.

Um, I heard about this a bunch of weeks ago, seeing how I live in the same city as Jerry Fallwell. I, along with most of Lynchburg, hate the guy. He is always saying dumb stuff and making our city look bad, then apologizing heartwarmingly to "his flock." All we have had in the paper for the last 3 weeks is editorials about Jerry Falwell. The whole city is really pissed and getting tired of Falwell running his mouth, we even have had articles from past residents who now live in New York and were apalled to here about Falwell's remarks next to their hometown's name. The guy is a moron and anyone who beleives his bull**** is dumb as a piece of crap.
