Sad day

i know this probably isn't important right now do to its only a fish, but I lost one of most beloved freshwater angelfish today, yesterday it was almost like it couldn't swim, like there was a bouncy problem, I didn't know what to do, it was late so I didn't post but I found it dead today.

I couldn't figure out what had happened believing that it inhaled air or something but I remember that I have a piece of cork in my tank hooked on to the lights so my floating plants stay in place, well sure enough I dissected him and he had been nippping the cork, I removed it but it still ticks me off, oh well

hmm.... you disected it? sorry, i just never thought of dissecting a pet fish Im sorry about your loss though, cork is a plant, so maybe that is why it was eating it...

Mikeman:

Sorry for your loss, but kudos to you for doing the dissection and gaining knowledge regarding the circumstances of death. I bet you've prevented further deaths in your own tank, and perhaps in those of others who read your post. Thanks.

Does this sound like it? See http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/BODY_VM053
Hexamita can cause alot of problems, and be at chronic levels without symptoms but when they happen they can cause problems quickly. Tetra BTW sells a medicated flake for parasites that contains the same active ingredient as mentioned in the article. Several online discus and angel breeders sell a medicated flake made by Zeigler for this problem. I have bought this food from the Fl Fish Farm Co-op. their website is http://www.4fishstuff.com

I did check out the site but I found little pieces of cork in him, what really stink is that he just paired with another one of my angels.
