Sure, quite a few of them. Cost start around 6k and work there way up.

Check out www.OpenGL.org. They have a nice physics demo and you might even be able to find what you are looking for. The one downside is that you will need a C/C++ compiler. Don't you use a Mac though? If so and if you can find the correct demo, I can compile it for you.

MarkS, OpenGl is for the graphics end of the software. I dont think it has anything to do with the "mechanics" of the program. I think....

I run a Elsa Gloria II graphics card on my system at work, it is a open gl compliant card.

Yes, you are right, but the site has tons of software/demos/etc using OpenGL. I found quite a bunh of usefull code/software there.

The problem is that what he needs is VERY specialized. The extremely high end 3D modelers/renderers do not even have the stuff he needs.

Well FishKid, good luck!

Super Sweet!

I'll definately look into that stuff, after we get off the ground.

A friend of mine, won a malpractice suite, so he has some major dough! enough to start a small business venture! His brother is a business major, and we have access to practically any tool we need (my neighbor is a mechanic and runs a shop out of his garage...)

So we were going to start a bike company, there is enough money for the business liscences and all that stuff, plus titanium is easy access around here (if you got the money)...

we dont really need the program, but i thought it would be nice, when we are trying dif. designs..

thanks
so wish us luck

Mark, Hate to tinkle in your weathies but here are some thing that jump into my mind. Please dont take the following thoughts to hard.

Titianium is plentiful in siberia (Russia). By easy access you mean buying ti from a distributor. Do you have any idea the grade and chemical compistion you want? Raw ti is Very brittle and a poor choice for bike frames.

Have you are your buddies ever tried to weld Ti? Very, Very, Very, Very, did I mention Very difficult to weld. And producing quality welds that actually stick the frame together is even tougher. To produce welds of Litespeed quality you have to work in sterile enviorments under stringent clean conditions, not to mention have the skill to weld the stuff. Ti is a diffrent beast from Aluminum and Steel bike frames. Both of which are easy to weld compared to Ti.

Apparantly you are not familar with the tools needed to produce bike frames. I Highly suggest that you looking to the large amount of jigs required to size frames. This can run into the 10's of thosands of dollars

The program will be the least of your concerns right now. You have to determine things such as tube slopes, head tube angles, OAL, wheel positioning, BB height among other things

I suggest you guys start off small. Try buidling steel frames first and even see if you can compete with the big boys let alone the hundreds of custom frame builders thruought the US. You might even look at lugged steel framesets to begin with, which require brazing skills. Brazing is much easier of a task than welding but still requires skill none the less.

Oh yea, please note my "handle" Ltspd~Litespeed. Framesets that I have logged a good 25-30k worth of miles on.

A few links of your competition. (just the Ti guys)

your right, i dont know any of that stuff... I just agreed to give my friend a hand, if he actually gets this thing started. by easy access, i mean there is a place over here (i think) where my friend can buy the stuff already formed, and ready to be welded. with all the money he has, I tried to convince him to open an LFS

P.s. I havent been able to keep a bike in working order for more than a few weeks at a time.
