It's DUMPIN' here in Tahoe

Man! I haven't seen a winter storm like this in 2 seasons! Kirkwood(my favorite ski resort) has been closed all day...not that anyone could get there anyway. All the highways in and out of the basin are closed right now. The boys are hoping for a snow day tomorrow

I guess US-50 is now closed in both directions? I know that westbound traffic was being held last time I looked. Looks like I-80 has been closed in both directions since noon.

Have fun.

I think that there is something really really wrong with the weather.
It is snowing over on the west coast and here on the east coast it was sunny and in the 60's-70's over the weekend.

Ya know Santa Claus does not come in this kinid of weather

Well the boys got their wish this morning. No school and everything is still closed. Storm is supposed to taper off later today so we can "dig out"

HA!!
We are getting unheard of weather here in NW Pa.
Today was in the upper 50's and tomorrow we're looking at over 60.
Last year it started snowing in October .
I know it's coming so I'm enjoying what's left of the good weather. Of course, I'm looking forward to getting my icefishing hut out.

Most people around here think I'm a Freak, but I love the winter and the snow that is supposed to accompany it. Actually, the word they use is IDIOT, not freak. We haven't been hit with a nice storm in the last four years. And even when we do get a foot or so, the accumulation melts before another storm can add to it.

I wanna see some snow, dagnabbit.

Snow?? What's Snow?? We get a dusting once or twice a year down here, only actually screws things up about every three or four years, But it really screws southerners up, we don't know what to do when it snows except close everything until it melts (usually only a day or two)

Don't know why that last one didn't upload right. Looks fine on my desktop. Anyway, I'm goin' to Kirkwood tomorrow. Anyone wanna see some pic's of the ski resort that consistantly gets awarded "Deepest snowpack in North America" ?

Kirkwood is easily my favorite, great snow, good terrain, not too large of crowds. Also, season pass for students is only $200, thats unheard of! I also like Squaw, Northstar, Mammoth, and wouldn't complain at just about any Tahoe resort, but KW is the best.

Perry,

Absolutely. Kirkwood has the best snow and, IMO, the best terrain.
