theres something wrong with my monitor, it is only a year old... It jittery like an old TV, and about every 45 seconds, for like 10 seconds the screen goes blurry, so blurry my mom can probably read it without wearing her glasses
Since the monitor is still 'pretty' new, could it be a virus program causing this, or a hardware prob? sorry for any type-o's i cant read the screen at all right now |

Make sure you don't have speakers near the computer, VGA cable, or the monitor.
You do have a surge suppressor on the monitor as well right?

Does a noise accompany the blur?

Could be a phone or cell phone or maybe a radio.. I had that problem with my monitor for a while turns out that through the process of elimination the signal from my cell phone or any cordless phone would cause my monitor to go haywire... maybe there is something near your computer causing it to mess up.

My monitor is doing something simular. What it is doing is "blinking" out every so offen. The computer will be running fine and then all of the sudden you head a "THUNK!" and the screen goes black and then immediately comes back in a kind of wobbly fasion. Then it's fine again for awhile and it does it again.
The problem is that I have an iMac, so I have no seperate monitor. ![]() Mark

MarkS,
Does a Mac have a Degauss reset on the monitor? Jus' wonderin' If it does...fire that off and see if you notice any similarities to your issue.

Nope. No degauss.
That's what I was thinking too, but I could not find any software control for it and there are no external monitor controls. I really hate the thought of breaking open the case. It is terribly difficult.Mark

It could be your video card. Sometimes they can send out a bad signal to the monitor and cause it to fry.
Since it is your second monitor to go out the video card is the first piece of equipment to chage out. Hopefully you can exchange the new monitor for a good one. Good luck. |
