Now what..!?!
If it's not one thing it's another. Saturday a turkey crash into the window in my tank room. First it sort of bounced off the window and everything looked OK. About an hour later I noticed a 1/2 inch crack in the corner. By the next morning the window was cracked from one corner to the other. This is one of the biggest windows in the house 6'X4'. I'm really hoping the insurance company doesn't give me a hard time with this. Now I sort of wished it came thru so at least I would have the bird as proof. As it stands all I have is a few feathers on the ground.
I think it broke a wing cause it laid there for a few minutes then ran into the woods. I guess I was lucky that it was the only one that hit cause there were over thirty that came in. Think my neighbor flushed them out with his tractor. |

And to think that Ben Franklin wanted to make the turkey our national bird. GEEZ! What a dumb bird. Sorry to hear about your window though.

Well, my home owners will cover the window but I have to come up with the first $250. ( I know! I'll get the wife a new window for Christmas!).
As far as the shotgun- we do that. I took my kid turkey hunting in October. I think it took almost 15 minutes for her to get one - I'ld still rather have a Butterball. |

Wow, that window is going to be a real pane to replace.

I'm picturing Bill Murry in "Ground Hog Day" only with a double barrel, sawed off 10 ga., night vision goggles, a roticery(sp?) oven and a turkey...
and oh ya...a tooth pick![]()

You should make a claim for the other 5 panes, you know one this size , 2 that and another 2 yet another size. Oh yeah and a bunch of tubes of aquarium grade silicone. Wink , wink know what I mean.
Nice thick big panes of glass.

Well I figure either way I'll get it fixed. I like ranaman's idea but I don't think it will fly with the wife.
Since it was only the inside pane that broke we just taped it up with some clear tape and decided to wait until spring. Once the weather warms up we're going to replace the entire window which will coat about 6 or 7 times more. Ahh Spring... ( We have a Spring turkey season here) ![]() |
