Unhappy Africa desert killing carribean reefs?

So did anyone else watch Animal Planet tonite and see how some marine bioligist are finding evidence that the dust storms/tradewinds are blowing diseases/bacteria into our carribean reefs? I know that its just one of the many possibilities but it was a VERY interesting editorial!
