Hi albee1947!

Yeah, it has been slower around here than it was say 6 months ago. The positive side is the post and new thread rates have been increasing over the past 4 weeks and new registration continues to grow. We are pleased with the number of people that call Reefland Home.

One thing that we have against us is exposure. RC and reefs.org get a lot of publicity! They both have an edge on the BB's with the expert forums and other features. Hopefully our new Marketplace will give Reefland a bit on an edge by providing a service that's currently not available in our industry.

Hope you will visit,
Scott Z.

just trying to help..reefland rules ..or at least there are far fewer jerks than on the other boards

Hi organicreefer!

I have spoke with Anthony a few times via e-mail; super guy! Perhaps when he gets more free time he will give us the pleasure of hosting a forum for Coral Propagation.

I'll put in a word about it too with Anthony. I'm sure he'd be delighted as long as time permits!

Our power has been out since Wednesday and just came back on. KC got nailed with a major ice storm, and will be chain-sawing out for awhile. Thankfully, the tanks pulled though (with some assistance from a much sought-after generator) although we have friends who suffered some devastating tank losses.

That's my excuse.

Popcorn...I been seeing that on the news...Hope all is well with your family, and loved ones...How bad is the situation there? I Have heard that there ppl there that still out of Power? This is a major concern unless you are using gas heat! I have family in Wichita Kansas....I know its probably a far ways away but I Have seen them get hit with some major winter storms....and hail the size of grapefruits!

Well, the last news report I heard put the total near 75,000 homes still without power at this point. At the peak, the total was near 375,000. The problem is that now the repairs are getting down to smaller and smaller units, and the rest will take awhile. The clean-up is going slowly, but steadily. Thursday night we just stood in the garage doorway and watched our trees come crashing down around us, with transformers blowing left and right. Right now, the ice is melting, but there is extensive damage. Wichita is about 2.5 hours south of here, and although they got ice, I believe they were spared the worst. (Although this is coming from someone who had no way of knowing...)

Gas heat doesn't work without electricity to run the starter and blower. Ironic, eh? Most of the people here who have no power also have no heat and have evacuated to shelters. We've unfortunately also had a few carbon monoxide deaths from people trying to manage the cold.
