Smile My latest Bike

Here is the latest creation in my other hobby, bikes.

Some stuff on the bike.

Specialized M4 team bike (Festina)
Look HSC-3 all carbon fork, including steerer tube
Full Dura-Ace except wheels
Cane Creek Aerohead wheel set
powder coat black and clear. Some of you may remember the frame before I stripped and painted

Bike weighs 18.5 lbs, which is very respectible for a bike that size. (I am 6'-1")

First ride should be this weekend weather permitting, at a training ride in Charlotte, NC.

About 2 hrs driving time. I am just south of Asheville. I am almost half way between asheville and hendersonville, retirement capital of the world.

Going snowboarding...if it doesn't rain.

Might drop you a line...actually an email...then a line.

Do some donuts in your lawn.
Crank Insane Clown Posse while rolling through your neighborhood...
the usual.

Oh yeah...and check out your tank.

I'll probably be stranded there, but I might be able to escape.

later,

P.S. How much does a frame like that go for?

Schro,
I PM'd you.

That bike cost a bit more than a few beans

Lets just say that either this bike or my Litespeed are worth more than my car. And all 3 of my bikes are worth more than my wife's.

How did you wind up stripping the old paint? What kind of new paint did you use?

Reinhold, I ended up taking the old powder coat finish off by having it dipped in a special stripping tank for PC'd aluminum. I didnt realize the thing was PC'd until after I started stripping it myself. Most bikes have standard auto paint on them.

The new paint is also Powder coat. I was talking with a local about a true paint job but the guy drug me on for almost 2 months and I got tired of waiting. I found the PC place here locally and only paid 125 to have a PC black and a PC clear. Tough fininsh that should last a lifetime.
