Question Need help with downloading chat programs

I'm trying to download ICQ for a million times but I always get the error message: Plugin Error! Plugin did not initialize properly. I tried downloading Yahoo messenger but also got the same error message. Now, what the **** is this plugin?

hey gia,

Are you by any chance behind a firewall? Sometimes you have to designate ports to be open to use certain programs....if so then email ICQ asking them what port it operates on then go into your firewall settings and allow that port to be used by ICQ

Gia,

So are you able to download anything else? Can you download other files ok? When does this "pop-up" come up? During the transfer, or near the end?

Gia try again this link.

When the page opens, Right Click on where it says "ftp.icq.com", and then click SAVE TARGET AS and just click OK

Let me know if it works, I'll be here all day. No work today, but I have to work tomorrow

SCCHWWEEEEETTT!!!! The plug-in I believe is either a Java plugin that may have been installed with IE5. If I were you, I'd go over to:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ and then on the left hand side where it says : REsources, click on Windows Update.

There will be IE upgrades there, in addition to your operating updates, if you haven't already done so.

Let me know if it works.

Gia, my ICQ# is: 12935404

Nice job, Elmo! You have a future in tech support. You just did better than 99.9% of tech support people I've talked to.

Baywatch Babe, what kind of job do you have? Does everyone work 365?

You're right Reinhold. 2 days ago I emailed ICQ for support but until now I haven't got any answer.

I feel that everyone is living a normal life except my bro and me. We are running a family business of fast food restaurant, mini grocery and a video store. And now another one came up... an architectural designs and construction services and janitorial and swimming pool services.

Hey Gia, congratulations on the businesses.

Maybe someday soon, you can sleep and play while employees make money for you. Business is hard work, but I find it much more enjoyable than working my hourly job in the ER. Some day I'd like to derive my entire income from business ventures.

Thank you for the praises Reinhold and Gia I try to help when I can and computer software and hardware is right around my corner, so hopefully i can help.

Now that you've mentioned a tech support person, I do somewhat sound like one.....reading the posts by Gia and me replying. Hmm......

Well at least I'm a good one.
