Ninong,
Heh.
I knew I'd find you in this thread today.
Seabean was thrilled by that score last night.
How 'bout the nearly crushed tot at home plate?
That was scary.![]()

Yeah, good thing J. T. scooped him up. Dusty's wife would have "killed" him, to say nothing of Dusty's mother, who called him in the dugout right after it happened.Did you see the relief on Dusty's face when he realized what was up and saw J. T. come to the rescue?

I wonder if that's the last we'll see of kids being in the dugouts?
I hope so.
It's gotta be a distraction.

The Giants have always had their kids in the dugout, it's just that Darren is much younger than the others. Maybe 3-1/2 is too young to allow him to retrieve bats. I would be willing to bet that Dusty will keep him off the field in the future. At least for the next three or four years anyway.

I am so depressed. Up 5-0 at the 7th inning stretch and then they lose it 6-5.
Oh, well... "tomorrow is another day."
Ninong
Well,it's finaly over and there'll be no dancing around in my houseI don't know how I got involved in this as I'm a Yankee fan but, Giants were once a new york team
.I had a feeling Levon was not the answer for the 7th game, but I guess you have to stop swinging when fight is over

I was almost dancing during the 7th. inning stretch yesterday but I got a very bad feeling about the ultimate outcome of the series after the Giants' bullpen fell apart in the 7th. and 8th. innings.
At least Bonds turned in a good postseason performance for a change. In fact, he scared the heck out of the opposing managers and pitchers.
Here ya go RALLY MONKEY, this is for you:

I have to admitt that I am thrilled that the Angels won the series. Once my Cardinals were knocked out, I had to root for the underdog. Congratulations to both the Giants and the Angels. They all fought hard in this series.

First Kings and the lakers and now Giants and the Lakers..you must hate us down here in the South..i have baseball and i found this series fun to watch..a lot of action..man that Barry bonds, what is wrong with his left hand..but boy can he hit, that cocky bastard.

Yes, I know. There has been a lot of talk about that since that incident that was replayed over and over and over again.
But don't forget that it was Bud Selig and company that put a 5-yr-old kid in the Cardinals' dugout and on the field when it suited their promotional purposes.
Looks like they will adopt new regulations for next year that will limit the number of batboys in the dugout to two and probably place an age restriction, too. What do you think?
Ninong
Nin,
Seabean thinks the kids presence might keep players civil....heh.
I think kids in the dugout are a distraction.
I also have a problem with baseball players lack of anger management, and the publics wholesale acceptance of their behavior.
The image of grown men throwing temper tantrums (and water cups), cursing and throwing equipment around while children less than 10ft away try to avert their eyes and ignore the actions of their heros and fathers...is...well, disturbing.
I wouldn't have made a good bat boy.
Comments like, "Hey *******!! Good job angry man! That was MY damn water and Nachos you just slung onto the field!!... Get your own ******* bat!" would have diminished my presence IMO.
At the very least, let the bat boys be old enough for little league.
Hey...was Dusty's boy really going for a bat? He looked like he was just running across home to me.

Oh yeah...
and one last thing.
Don't we have enough nepotism in politics?
Let's try to keep it out of baseball.
Batboys should not be related to anyone affiliated with Major League Baseball.
Spread the wealth.
Silver spoon batboys...I swear.
Ok...I feel better now.![]()
