walkman reception
Hi All,
OK I need to pick the brain of all you electronic junkies. I was wondering if there is a way to boost the reception range of the radio tuner on walkmans? There is this one radio station that I listen to but I cannot get it clearly when I want to go out and use my walkmans. The reception is either very static or just won't come in. Yet I can drive my car in these same places and I get this station fine. So is there anything that I could do? I see that for cell phones there is this flat piece of metal looking thing that you can buy that suppossedly boosts the range of the cell phones....even in elevators, Ya think one could work in a walkman?? Thanks for any help, CaptK P.S. - Attaching a 10ft long antenna on the walkman is not an option ![]() |

I wouldn't go as far as attaching a 10' antenna but perhaps a set of rabbit ears will help!

The so-called antenna extenders for cell phones have failed in every legitimate test by consumer groups. They don't work.
If the station you want to listen to is FM, you need antenna length, unlike AM which is more a function of radio position. I am unaware of any antennae for WalkMan style radios. |
