Arrow Saks, Lies and Videotapes...

Will Winona ride it out?

Fearless prediction: Guilty, but the judge gives her probabation and a few hours of community service.

This should be a slam dunk but ya never know about celebrity trials in LaLa land.

She walks.

The def. need to put the scissors in her hand, letting her awkwardly drop them to the floor several times while staring at the jury with a confused look on her face.

"If the scissors don't fit! You must acquit!

C'mon,
you can't put someone in Jail for researching a Movie role!!!!

Crazy celeb trying to get a "thrill" because she can buy/do whatever she wants, but nothing brings the adrenaline on like stealing chanel scarves from Saks esp. when you have the money for them in your pocket.

Have no idea what she allegedly stole, but the chanel scarves thing fit well.

Isn't that just crazy, all that money she has made in the movie industry and she steals merchandise from Saks. I am sure they would have given it to her on credit.

I still don't understand why she did not plead out this thing. They had her signature on a written statement saying "I, Winona Ryder, stole such and such from Saks today." The only reason the judge didn't allow it in was because she wasn't read her rights in advance. In addition, it is reported that she has been caught at a couple of other stores, including Neiman-Marcus, doing exactly the same thing.

I think she made a big mistake going on Saturday Night Live while awaiting trail doing a shoplifting skit.

When is sentencing? She will probably just get community service and probation.

The sentencing is set for Dec. 6th., the DA has already said they will not seek jail time, and... her attorney said they will wait until Dec. 6th. to file a motion for a new trial.

So she's convicted of felony grand theft for stealing $5500 worth of stuff from Saks. How much do you think she's paying in legal fees?

I think 10-15K was just the retainer.

Then factor in like $500/hr research brief writing time, and boot that per hour charge up to about $750/hr for trial time.

Just a guess, but probably not far off.

I would estimate that her legal fees are at least $150,000. Maybe one of the legal eagles on the board will chirp up and give us an estimate.

Considering OJ's were seven figs, I wouldn't doubt it.
