Web Design Software

Well, I'm finally commited to sitting down this weekend and trying to figure out how to design my web page. My first problem is to decide which software package to use (learn). I have Frontpage, All Adobe Products (Photoshop, Image Ready, Go Live, etc) and the Macromedia Products (Dreamweaver, etc). Which software would you recommend for a rookie? As soon as I figure this out I will run to borders and get one of those "Dummy" books and jump right in.

Hi scout!

Dreamweaver is the way to go. There are a couple of lessons under Help that should get you started. IF you have any specific questions, let me know.

Regards,

I've used FrontPage for three web sites. It is fairly simple to use.

I use Netscape.

There is basically zero learning curve and the price is right (it is free).

Also you don't have to learn a single line of HTML code if you don't want to. WYSIWYG.

Here are some examples (I am not an artist):

I second reefland on Dreamweaver. I do some freelance webdesign and I would recommend Dreamweaver over most programs. Very easy to learn and also is very adequate for complex websites.

Also image ready and photoshop are great for prep.
