I am planning on building a website to showcase my soon-to-be reeftank.
I have Frontpage 98 and Dreamweaver for the building part but what is the best software to use for hosting a website on a homebased server? I need something quick and easy as i am not too familiar with it all yet. I would be running it on a dedicated machine networked to my cable internet connection. I know there are some drag-and-drop type sever programs out there but i don't know what they are. If anyone can shoot me some thoughts and ideas it would be very helpful.

If you are running XP/2000 you can install the IIS component and use that to host your site.
If still on 98 you can dl PWS(personal web server) from Microsoft, I'm not big fan of PWS although I'm not a big fan of 98 either, but it does work for what you need. Hope that helps. Ryan |
