The United Nations is a Joke! This body should be renamed the Anti-US nations. Do any of you realize who is heading the U.N. department on Human rights? It’s Libya for crying out loud! France, Germany, Russia, and China have made it clear that there is NOTHING that can surface that will make them back the US in any way. They babble on about giving inspectors more time…more time to do what? It is obvious by the evidence that Powell presented that Saddam is actively deceiving the inspectors. With more time he will simply deceive them longer, he has made no effort to come clean. With France and there ilk backing him why should he. If the world would really stand together he would cave but that will never happen. Were Hitler to rise to power today this same axis of morons would oppose any US action to stop him. I find it hilarious that a German cabinet minister called Bush Hitler seeing as if it weren’t for us he’d have a swastika on his shirt right now. Its time that we took our real allies like the Great Britain, Australia, Italy, Israel, Turkey and the rest and form a new Group. The United Nations is worthless, and without our building and our money, nonexistent. I wonder whom France and Germany would turn to if some horrible danger presented itself in Europe? Please don’t get the wrong idea. These countries disagree with our policy and us and that’s fine to decent. But France and the rest are doing is thumbing their nose, obstruction backed by some nasty rhetoric. If one of my friends treated me in such a manner, I’d get some new friends. I suggest we do the same. Pull all of our troops out of said countries and give them a pat on the back and”best o luck”. Perhaps I’m wrong, but I doubt it!

We've been bankrolling all of the "peacekeeping" missions for YEARS.

You are ever soooooo right about the UN. What a waste of resources.

Germany and France have extensive financial ties w/ Iraq, IMPHO, it's all about commerce. Both of these so called allies have economies that are struggling, at best - and when we do attack and take down Iraq, their economy will go deeper down the tubes, during the war, and for who knows how long after.

Speaking of after, I have not heard what will happen to Saddam. Are our plans to take him out w/ say a sniper bullet? Arrest him and bring him to trial? My thoughts are that if we just exile him, or if he does get away, I think he will continue to be a PITA.

You know what I wish for is that Bush utterly backs out of the Korean situation entirely. Just throws his hands up and says..."well gang, we tried with a treaty, perhaps someone else has a suggestion."
...and NEVER comments on that country again.

No participation in roundtable discussions on who is going to "buy" civil behavior from N. Korea. Nothing.
Tell South Korea, "yep...you guys are right about our presence being a burden, we will start slowly withdrawing troops tommorow, ok?"

Ah Speedy, you've drawn my eye. Come now, I'm glad your government is smarter than yourself. No the world doesn't revolve around us however, we are the lone superpower in the world and when the **** hits the fan where else are they gonna look. If we did take a NAP you'd hear the world howl about our insensitivity. When we eliminate a threat the world howls that we're power mad. Get a grip. If we really just wanted IRAQ's oil we could simply take it. We have the capability to do so and there's not a lot anyone could do about it. Even the "noble" French;) The man is a threat to us as well as stability in the region and he will be removed. Your country is wisely on board, aparently they see the threat and your government also probally gets a kick out of Libya heading up the human rights dept at the wise ole UN. I don't know what your beef is but its too bad you can't see the US as a friend to you and your country because, we are. We're just tired of being asked for help, protection, hit up for money, and then being spat at!
