Do you trust Crutchfield?
I personally think they are a bunch of BS shiesters. Reason I ask is because I was plannig on buying some Infinity Reference 6.5's componants from Ikesound.com and decided to check Crutchfield and see if they say they would fit or not. They say they don't but that the Kappa 6.5's comp would. I am thinkn well of course they would tell you that the Kappa's would fit becuase they cost twice as much(from them that is). I am thinking there can't be that much difference in size or screw holes, depth or whatever.

Has anybody bought anything that Crutchfield said would not fit when indeed it did with little or no modifications needed?

I've purchased several car audio components from Crutchfield and never had any issues w/ them. Then again, all that I bought did fit into the vehicles they went into so never had to deal w/ them over an issue such as yours. They always treated right and fair.

Bought a bunch of stuff from them, always happy, very helpful.

Chances are, if they say they don't fit, they don't-

In all my experiences with them, they have been correct.

They even talked a friend of mine through wiring a stereo into my car, down to the wires in the dash (like blue wire should be this. etc. and it was-)

MY Only complaint - check prices B4 buying, they don't match.

I have made several big ticket purchases from Crutchfield, and I trust them. No problems here.

My purchasing from Cruitchfield goes back almost to when the company started (20 years for me) and I have never been let down or mis-lead.

I actually just purchased some new car audio stuff for a new used truck. The detail and explantion they provide on the install is top knotch. Unless its a heavy item such as a tv I almost always buy from them.
