preparing photo for display on site
I want to attach a photo to my posts but I keep getting a message saying the file is to large. I took the photo under low resolution on my camera. What do I need to do to prepare it for this web site?

The maximum file size for posting is 102400. You can right click on the file you are going to attach and select "Properties" to see the file size. Even though you took the picture under a 'low' resolution, you will likely need to shrink the image. Use your favorite image processing software, (Photoshop, Paintshop, etc.) and resize the image. You can also save on picture size by dropping the color count.
Give it a try... Doug

Changing the physical (or is it virtual) size of the image is the best way to get it posted. A good resolution is 600 x 450 pixels.

if you dont have photo editing software you can use these sites to get it done imageresizer.com or irfanview.com
If you are going out to buy photo editing software I think the Macromedia Fireworks is the best. It has the best jpeg compression I have seen.. This started out as a huge file and by resizing it with Fireworks it is now a 36k file ![]()
