Sump/Refugium

I am setting up a 75 gallon tank and I want to use a sump/refugium for filtration. The tank is not pre-drilled. What recommendations do you have for a Skimmer(i.e. hang on or submersed), hang on overflow, sump and refugium. I would like to build my own if possible.

Thanks

Mike,
Do you have the refugium built right into the sump? How large of a sump and refugium do I need for a 75 gallon tank?

Thanks,

Todd

I use the whole area left over for the refugium...

I know the water moves fast thru there and a refugium typically has less flow, but the algae doesn't seem to care...

As far as size goes make it as big as you can.... Part of the appeal to a sump is INCREASED water capacity for a given tank

I bought the plant lights at home depot, they are just NO 48" flourescents and yes they seem to work just fine. Especially for the feather type algae it grows faster then the grape stuff does!!!
