Rp Marine- I have a diy skimmer that works very well. I use a TetraTec Deep Water 24-2 and limewood air stones. This gives me lots of very fine bubbles and lots of productive foam. However, it has been reported and I can attest to the fact that the TT Deep water air opumps can be quite noisy. Something about the diaphrams. But if yours is 'mini' you may not need that big a pump. I would reccomend staying away from the ceramic air stones as they have a tendancy to clog and I find the bubbbles are not nearly as fine. Hope this helps. Jon
