Need help with 90g DIY canopy please

Ok..I have decided to upgrade my lighting with MH retrofits but need a canopy first. I spent the entire day looking at a couple stores and there is no way I am going to pay $480 for an Oceanic and the others I saw simply are not tall enough so I am going to try to build my own.

I am by no means a master carpenter but can hold my own if I have instructions or a diagram. I have searched the web high & low but cannot find anything that is not very vague.

Does anyone have a link or some plans I can refer to?? anything at all? Pics sure would be nice as well

Thanks,

Mark

Here is a couple of links that might give you some ideas.

Usually with canopys that house MHs, I would make a canopy that you can flip the front part of so that you can feed the fish, change the bulbs, or do some maintenance.

I built a canopy following the following link:

I used 10" lumber for the front and sides beause I may upgrade to MH in the future. You can adjust the dimensions to fit your application.

You may want to check out my recently posted DIY 75/90 canopy. I have halides and this design allows 9 1/4 inches clearence from top of tank to bottom of top piece. has a flip front and was designed to be built using all std available lumber from local lowes, menards, etc.
