    Hey Reefer!

Give me a couple of weeks, I am going to do up a DIY project for a canopy for DE pendents; might be as early as next weekend.

well... i finaly built a canopy for my 30gal cube. i am going out to buy a small bucket of white paint, and some 2 part epoxy tommarow to coat the inside of the hood. and i also came across this dual hard drive cooling fan on ebay for only about 10$(including s/h). would hard drive cooling fans work? or do i need something more powerfull to keep my hood nice and cool??

    here are the pictures!

-first picture is of the hood i built for my nano, its not all the way finished, i still need to sand it, paint the inside white then give it a coat of polyurathane, and then paint the outside, and i think im going to paint the outside black, so it maches the tank.
-last picture shows just how bright the MH is.

thanks a lot! i will have pics of the nano canopy tommarow, i just finished with the moldings and trims, i just need to put a coat of polyurathane in the inside, and i need to paint the outside. i have a question, should i spraypaint the outside black so it matches the trim of the tank? or should i stain it a nice wood color?

    Spraypainted Black or Stained?

too late i already spraypainted it black so it matches the bottom trim of the tank. my retrofit light just came in today, so when the paint dries, i will mount it in the hood, and tommarow i will put it on the tank and take some pictures.

lol, that is a matter of personal preference anyway..... The best answer you might have gotten is *it's your tank, do what YOU like*
