75 gallon finished setup.?
Well, I have finished the new set up on my 75 gall (120 gallon total) tank. I bought a 6 ft tall bookshelf and put it beside the tank.
The bokshelf (top to bottom) PFO 400w HQI ballast, DIY 175w ballast, other PFO 400w HQI ballast is on the floor. The two PFO's run radiums for the main tank and the 175w is for the sump/refug under the tank. On the right is a DIY surge made from 6" acrylic tube and 1" pipe. Copied from Carlson but tweaked and its not loud. I built an 18 gallon acrylic tank to house another refugium above the tank. The shelf for the refug was reinforced with 1/2" x 2" Oak. NO plant grow lights are used for the top refugium which has Halmedia (not sure on sp.) Books and chemicals are on the next 2 shelves. I am in the process of making doors for these two shelves. On the bottom shelf is where the DIY Calcium reactor, PH monitor and CO2 tank are. Thanks DJ88 for the design (its a little different from DJ88's though). On each side of the tank I have added DJ power strips for easy on and off with out unpluging. There were just way too many wires running under the tank. The sump/refug and external ETSS skimmer are still under the main tank. I just cant help myself from contionously modifing the tank with mostly DIY. DIY projects include surge, Ca Reactor, new refugium, old sump/refugium, overflows and skimmer (not in use yet because its way to big). New tank and fishroom will be ready in 2 months. My first home is nearly complete. I will be installing a 180 gallon tank in the wall. There will be a 9' x 7' room behind the tank. I will be starting a new thread on that in a month or two from start to finish. Projects will include main tank 180, prop tank 125, refugium above the tank 55, DIY skimmer , sump 50 gallon, earth cooled chiller two 55 gallon drums buried in the ground(I need suggestion on this). I will also be attempting Weatherson's sinsudal valve. Anyway thanks for looking. Here are a few pics of the new system for my 75 and a few of the new house and fishroom. Looks like you have some nice toys there hooked to your tank, I wish we had the room to add some of those goodies!
