are there any diy algea turf scrubbers & would they be better than a coil denitrator? |

i am looking for some alternatives to dealing with nitrates in a 150g tank. i dont really know what an algea turf scrubber is so if anyone has any info on them or a diy design i would appreciate it. also i am currently considering building a coil denitrator but have read lots of negative things about them. anyone know of a good diy design that is relatively trouble free and does not need lots of adjusting. thanks.

Hi jeremyspoken, Welcome to Reefland!
I wouldn't mess with a denitrator personally and I think there are easier methods for nutrient export than a turf scrubber. Have you considered setting up a simple refugium and stocking it with various macro algaes for nutrient exporting? |
