Anyone ever build a DYI hood just to raise the lights off the top of the tank? I have a glass top now but would like the lights to maybe be a couple inches off the top.
I have a idea of how i want to build it but if someone already ha a successful build and you dont mind could get a few pointers. thanks Brian |

There are some threads here on building hoods already but I want to comment on your use of glass tops. You should do some research on this as the glass causes 2 problems:
1. Decreased oxygen exchange with surface aggitation. 2. Reduced lighting since your lights have to penetrate through the glass before reaching the water. |
