Since noone has any objections to the design I posted 3 posts up I'll tell them to go ahead and drill it tomorrow. I hope it's a good design.

Ok..

I'll reply..
Your tank drilling and overflow ideas sound fine. Depending upon the size of the hole that is drilled for the drain you *may* have to come up with a clever way of quieting it down possibily, bigger is better. Maybe even having a cover of some sort for the overflow box will help.
I like the idea of having 4 returns to your tank. If nothing else, 2 of them can be utilized for a closed loop if your mag12 (think thats the last pump you decided upon) is loosing too much head pressure for your circulation needs.

I'll be using a mag 24 feeding to 3 3/4" bulkheads. Possibly will upgrade to a closed loop in the future but I don't think I'll need it. Thanks for responding I was starting to think I made some enemies or something went wrong with the post.

oh I was thinking about using a durso and a plexiglass cover for the overflows.

ah..

Very good. Did not see that you decided on the 24 from the previous posts, maybe I just missed it.
You will have to update your pictures to include all that you are doing/have done. One of theses days, I shall do also.

Samper,

I still think you might have a problem pushing this much water through a sump that is situated under a 75 gallon tank. I started with a MAG 18 and it was way too much, had to drop to a 7 and increase internal water movement through other means. What kind of sump are you going to be using? Specifically what kind of compartments and baffles will be incoroporated to help handle 2000gph (or so)?

Well I expected to lose alot of head with 4 returns and quite a few 90 degree elbows. If needed I'll do a closed loop as suggested with the middle two returns and use the other two with a smaller mag. What do you think?

For a sump I'm gonna build as big of one as I can handle, large skimmer compartment, series of over under baffles, large compartment where I'll store extra LR and some algaes, another series of baffles and my return pump chamber.
Dimensions I'm looking at are
Sump size 14.75"w
36" long
24' tall.

I think it's worth a try, but be prepared to have problems with micro-bubbles due to the amount of flow your going to try and push through there. You will lose some output obviously and even if it was 800gph your still looking at 1600gph through the sump and that is quite a bit under a 75 gallon tank.

Can that sump handle that amount of flow do you feel? I forgot to mention that between each of the baffles there will be 2".
