Camera box 4 topdown pics

Has anyone built one of these, if so please post tips, pics, and any helpful info. I actually have a Scuba underwater case for my Nikon 995 but it is way too bulky and Im thinking about building me a case out of acrylic just for taking pics of my tank.

Yeah...thats the ticket!...Funny cuz I emailed Marc and you replied and he replied @ about the same time...I saw the thread on RC but never got that link. Most excellent design. I love the idea of using black acrylic on all sides of the case cept for the viewing panel. Gene will you please post pics of the box when you get it and some pics of your tank.....WOOOOHOOO You w/a cam box....I cant imagine your pics any better ...but guess what, I EXPECT it...LOL sorry to hold you contigent to such a high standard bro! Also let us know how much Marc charged ya for it...there may be others that want one made. I know that since I have already dropped one Nikon 995 in one of my tanks it wont happen again

I just wanted to add that I read on another thread about someone using a LEE's specimen container for their camera box, and saw some pics and they turned out pretty darn nice! Cept you could see the mold break (was pretty small) which just so happened to be in the middle of the viewing panel but they still came out nice for someone who wants a cheap shot at one of these.

Also on somewhat of another note I have used the LOA (lights of america) clear plastic covers to view my corals from above...just float the panel ontop of the water like a boat (even with flow in full bloom) and you will get a clean sharp crisp view, actually Ricksreef taught me this one Thanx Rick!

Thanks for the vote of confidence on my pix taking, Rocky. Now I have to make sure I don't slack off...

As far as price on that box, Marc charges $40.00 with shiping, which I thought was pretty reasonable. FWIW, I can only use it on one side of my tank, unfortunately. The other side has corals 2" from the water line so the box would make lots of frags if I am not careful.

Are you going to make one for yourself,Rocky?

I will post something about it as soon as I get it, it was supposed to leave Texas this Monday, crossing my fingers that it did and I'll be getting it any day now.

Any day now....
