DIY Scraper?

Ok I want to build or heck even buy (not from LFS though) a scraper that will allow me to insert/dispose razor blades. The scraper needs to be very durable and atleast 1' long preferably 1.5'. I LOVE the kent scrapers but man there has to be a DIY for razorblades.....I dont really mind buying the replaceable blades for the scraper but its not like I can afford to have 100 of them laying around....but I always have 100 razor blades laying around...they are cheap.

This is the closest thing I could come up with but I dont think the handle/ext is more than 12" long

I don't know if this is spelled right but what about a wooden dowel rod with a groove cut in the end so you can just slide the blade out when finished with it. The rod would have to be decent size to keep the razor blade from moving when you're scraping at an angle but I think it may work.

It would definitely have to be something sturdy as Samper mentions so you could get some pressure behind it.

Well I have heard of people taking out the plastic scraper blades in their long kent handles and adapting them to razors but I dont think a razor will fit perfectly in them....If memory serves me correctly they had to make a slight modification?! Cuz those kent scrapers are perfect....very sturdy but if you ever priced the plastic replacement blades you know that you can basically buy 100 razor blades for the price of one plastic kent blade replacement

Why not buy the metal replacement Rocky? I did, and it has worked GREAT! It comes on a yellow mount.

Hmmm...are they as cheap as razor blades? I can get like 100 razor blades for like $1 @ harbor freight. At that price you can basically afford to use a new blade everytime you clean your glass....and IMO theres nothing like a fresh brand new razor blade to clean the glass.

I use a pvc with a slot cut in at an angle to super glue a utility knife blade. It rusts in a month or two and I cut off the end, cut a new slot and add a new blade. You could do the same with a razor blade.
