That carbon thread inspired me to find a place for carbon. I found a perfect spot to hang it. Now I just need to figure out what the best material would be. What should I make the bag out of?

Panty Hose! LOL
I'm saving those for the filter floss.![]()
I'm actually looking for a material that has a little beef to it. Something that won't crumple into a ball after its hung.
Any bag made of nylon or polyester with a small mesh. Get one for about $5 at the LFS.
For the filter floss I use some "egg crate" from the lighting section of Lowes. I have a piece that acts like a shelf in my CPR overflow. The floss just sits right on top of that. It also works well as a snail guard on the front of the overflow. My CPR does have a finer screen guard though too, like what you see for closed loop inputs.

I use pantyhose too. Just make sure you rinse them real good....ya know how the ladys like to use all that smelly good stuffOh yeah you might know this already too Gary but I would rinse the carbon as well some times when carbon sits for a bit you will get settlement and you can flush out black powder even through the pantyhose if it hasnt been washed.
Rocky
I ended up picking up a few of those $1.99 bags from the LFS with carbon already inside. I have em teabagged in a baffled off area in the sump. Alot of water is flowing through them so I'm happy. Maybe I'll come up with something better in the future.
I always try something different. I have a $25.00 Whole House filter canister from Lowes, that I modified to hold carbon, using a small maxi jet to power
When I was in high school, I got in trouble with my girlfriend's Dad. He said, " I want my daughter back by 8:15." I said, "The middle of August? Cool!"
