Sump Questions

Here is my layout so far. I am going to use a 25 Gallon High tank as this is as big as i can get under my stand. should be about 6-7 gallons bigger than what I have now. In the media tray I will put a carbon & filter pad. My skimmer is the Aqua C remora Pro. Water exits the side. I could put a piece af acrylic to fall onto the media tray as well.

Questions:
1) How tall should 1,2,3,4 be?
2) Any suggestions on what to change? Comment or Criticism. My first attempt at this.

I think that will work ok. Of course the deciding factor will be how much water the tank will drain during a pump failure and if that volume can be held in the sump with these operating levels. What are your 110's tank dimensions?

This is not an obscure issue. My sump holds 1/2 gallon less than what drains out of my tank when the power goes out. Not pretty to come home to. I've coped with a Universal Power Supply on my main pump to keep it going for the more frequent short power outages. It would still be better to have a sump that would hold the overflow.

It is really the main issue that should be considered when developing a sump that will be a functional system with baffles that control water levels.

It should be fine as I beleive only about 4 gallons back drains. I will confirm. Aside from this should I just leave the heaights where they are at.

In general looks good.

Tank is flat back hex 60x18x24

I wish I had known more when the LFS was selling the tank to me and setting it up with the sump.

In a traditional rectagular tank with 1.5" of water draining during pump outage your looking at about 6 gallons draining. To be safe just make sure your sump is only 2/3 full at operting level and you should be just fine.
