FYI
DO NOT use a heat gun to remove silicone in an aquarium! Found out the hard way. 3/4" glass shattering like I took a hammer to it. NOT FUN! :slap:

Bugger! Now that's nasty. It's one of those things you do and then think - I shouldn't have done that and I do know better. (Been there, got that tee shirt with a TV and a magnet.)
FYI - it is possible to get a chemical (the name of which is proprietory and I can't remember) that removes aged silicone. Strong acetic acid will remove it before it cures, IIRC.
