Finally, a use for the Nano Fission Skimmer
Hi,
I'm normally just a watcher in this forum but have some info that might be interesting for those with nano cubes and the familiar heat issues... 1) With the price of energy on the rise many of us can't (or don't want to) keep our house thormostats set @ an effective temperature to prevent tank overheating. 2) Since most of us were suckered into purchasing the; "Nano Fission Skimmer," which turned out (for me) to be totally useless for that purpose without making serious comprimises with water level - etc, I started looking for a better use: You can extend the air hose of the skimmer to the length needed and insert the end into your Air Conditioning vent. Say; "Abra-Cadabra" and -POOF- you now have an effective chiller for $30 American. |

Had any luck with this yet ? Sounds like it may work a little. May try a small contained test tonight with my QT. To how well it works. I do not have a nano skimmer, but I'm guessing this will work with any vent. type skimmer. I have a coralife needle wheel one. I will try with that tonight I'll post my results.

Yes- I fully agree- the Fission Skimmer is useless. If you don't have it, DO NOT GET IT! The first and worst thing I was ever suckered into getting.
