Critique my current sump...

Hello everyone,

Here are a few pictures of my current sump. Overflow to tank is on the right side of the pics, Mag 12 to tank on the left. As you can see, there is no skimmer. I have finally received my ASM G4 plus skimmer and also have a new 40 breeder tank that I am going to use as my new sump 36L 18W 16H. Just by looking at what my setup is now and factoring in the skimmer and bigger tank, is their any changes anyone would think would make a positive impact?

Looks good to me. As long as you are not filling your tank with bubbles, and the pump does not overflow the tank if your overflow quits then you are good to go.

Their is enough room in the sump for backwash in case the power goes out. I have turned the power off on purpose and it rises leaving abt an inch of room after the anti siphon hole breaks. My problem is that if the overflow were to fail, I would definitely have a flood as it would spill out of the tank, but if i raise the pump, I get a ton of air bubbles, so I don't know what to do. Also, what othet type of lighting would you recommend? This particular lamp is flourescent with incandescent base bought at lowes, I am not sure of the wattage but it seems weak to me?

I was thinking of using a 50/50pc mini bulb that I already have. just wondering because it's only 13 watts.
When you say the overflow will fail, do you mean if the line would clog but the return pump keep pumping? I think that's a inherited risk of having a sump. Why do bubbles increase the higher you raise the pump?
