    Help, I need to know how to make 2 10 gal tanks into sump/refugium

    I need some help making 2 10 gallon tanks into sump 1 for refugium, I especially need help with the plumbing. It is for a 55 gallon display.

    i think after you buy all the plumbing needed to plumb them to gether it would be cheaper just to buy 1, 20 or 30 gal tank. JMO

    You must have the same stand I had with mine, I finally just got a metal stand and asked the Hubby to build me a false front for it.

    I have a metal stand for the 10 gal tanks, it is next to the display

    I am not sure if the end cost would validate this or not but here it goes. With both tanks drilled you can use a bulkhead as a mounting point. The seal will need be installed inbetween the two panes of the tanks (coated with silcone rtv for a good seal). However I am not sure if they can be positioned that close together with the frames around the tanks. Maybe added a piece of wood under the first tank to elevate it enough to clear the frame. If not you can use 2 bulkheads with a small piece of flex PVC inbetween as the (bridge). Another option is to build an acrylic sump..... The latter is my choice..
