MJ Mod

I just finished my second MJ mod and this one is so far is a success. The first mod I'm still fooling with to get to working correctly. I was not able to get the vibrations, rattling out of it while running its really annoying. Now the prop will try to switch directions all by its self. I'm at a loss for what to try next. I'm not sure how long the first mod. will last and not make noise. Has anyone tried the oceanflo mod kit? It looks much better and factory made. So far I'd say save your money on the DIY MJ mod. its crude at best and very unreliable.

Send a message via MSN to Samper
I have modified every MJ that I own and.....I own atleast 15 of em. Anyway I'm not sure what you did to them but the mod shown in a few pics in this thread Maxi Jet Mod is simple and works perfectly. This is not the mod that costs money to do so if you're thinking of using a model airplane prop this isn't the one.

15 wow did it take that many to get a reliable one? Just kidding. All I know is I made 2 and have a 50% failure rate. I made it both the so called new and old way and the new is defiantly better but still can't make it quite. I'm not saying its a bad idea or that mj mods is a bad company, its just that its a long shot that you'll end up with something acceptable. The prop doesn't (at all) fit the shaft that comes with it, Which means you could glue it on crooked. after you break the magnet and glues the shaft into it you have an out-of round condition which all of these things means noise. This impeller assemble has got to be TRUE if its going to work. The centering cap has to be perfect or the magnet will rub the sides(noise). There are too many variable's to say this is a reliable mod. With respect of course, I have a hard time believing all 15 mods. worked "perfectly" with no issues. I would however be interested in a the product from oceanflo.com as anyone tried these factory mods? they have a 1 year guarantee too.

I think the mod that Samper is referring too is different than the one you did. I think he is referring to cutting the nozzle off of the output and placing the pump on a wavemaker. Since the impeller reverses each time the pump starts, the direction of the output is changed each time the pump starts.
