Stand build assistance
I just built a bar height in wall stand for my new 210 I'm working on. As a tabletop, I used two 3/4" plywood glued together. When I finally got the tank up on the stand I notice there is about a 16th of an inch gap between the bottom of the tank and the tabletop as you move toward the middle. It is a 210G AGA. Is the tank built this way to sort of counter the weight it's expected to hold or should this be corrected. I thought the tabletop was perfectly flat since the two boards lay on top each other air tight. Maybe it bent a little as I secured it to the stand.
So again, is this something that I need to correct or is this how the tank is built and will it be ok when it's filled? Thanks all.

Re: Stand build assistance
I think if you put some styrofoam underneath the tank you would be alright.

Re: Stand build assistance
I agree with Charlie. I don't think 1/16th of an inch is that big of a deal.

Re: Stand build assistance
i ran in the same problem with a bought tank. You would think the trim is flat but it actually is not. I checked mine with a straight edge and i was amazed how wavy that was. Anyway, best solution is get yourself that foam used for under laminate flooring and put one or two layers under the tank. Trim off the excess with a razor blade after you fill the tank that way anything that gets squeezed out will be trimmed off nicelly.

Re: Stand build assistance
Thanks guys for the solutions. How thick should the foam be? I was originally thinking to put that pink R15 (i think) insulation under the tank but was wondering if that might be a bit much.

I would think that 1/2 to1" would be more than sufficient. Good luck, you ought to show us some progress pics. We are gluttons for that kind of stuff.

Re: Stand build assistance
Thanks. I sure will. I'm gathering my pics to start a build thread this weekend. I was a little reluctant to do so at first but since I've been around this community and seen so many others do it, I've come to realize that it's not only entertaining and educational for others but also very beneficial to the builder because it helps avoid the "gotchas" that wouldnt be recognized without the past experience of other users. Look out for that this weekend!
