I need some pics of the best way to build a standpipe. I will have a 2" bulkhead. Send any pics or diagrams to give me an idea of where to go. I know Samper has one he wants me to do. Samper, can you draw it and post it please!?!?!?!?

We can take one of them out Sunday so you can see it closer.
I need to get that gutter guard out.

alright... sounds good. I've got my overflows cut with only 4 - quarter inch teeth and gutter guard silaconed into it to keep anything from spilling over. Do you think that will be ok and help with getting more water over? or is it a bad idea?
Anyone else have anything they want to show? It would help greatly!
I'm sure some others will have standpipe pics. They are really pretty easy to make though.
If I read correctly you only have a total of 4 1/4" slits in each overflow? If so I would recommend to put many more in each.
Here is the idea behind the stockman overflow that I built.

No no, I only have 4 - 1/4" posts or whatever you want to call them. I have a ton of open space with the gutter guard covering it. They act as supports for the gutter guard. Reefland was worried about the overflows not handling the flow, so I made very large openings (like 2"s)...
I thought he was worried about bulkheads not handling the flow of the mag 36. Sorry about that. With the gutterguard as you described you may want to double it up. I doubled some up on the inside of both of my overflows right behind the all of the 32 teeth on each overflow. This kept a lot of the smaller snails out of the overflow/sump and didn't restrict flow but it was a pain to take out and clean because all the lights had to come off.

Ok, I will put another layer on the backside. Thanks for that advice...
This is mine, works great! All I hear now is a pleasant little waterfall, no more gurgles and sucks!

I like that, I just don't have the room! lol
You can cut a little off the T and Elbow to shorten it a bit for a tighter space.
Yes you can do that if you have to but mine is 6" across so it's already pretty small.![]()

Ok, I'm gonna take a good look at Samper's on Sunday and probably go from there... With my overflow bein curved it's about my only option...
Here is the tank shot. The overflows are in and eggcrate is cut...
Backside view....
Here is a better view of the overflows.... The silicone will be covered with black foam.... Do you think the gutterguard will be ok and do the job??
That is a two inch pipe for me to put the stockman on in case you were wondering the size
Just added a DIY Rock Stand.... It will be covered in Black Pond Foam as well as the back wall and the overflows...
