Stand - Is 40" too tall?
I hate bending over to look into the aquarium, so I thought about building my stand 40" tall. The display will be 120 gal. I know I will have to make it nice and sturdy, but am I asking for trouble that high?

No. It's all in how you build it. My stand is 42" tall holding a 210, but it's built in wall and anchored to the wall (if that makes sense). The stand by itself could hold the tank if I continued the weight beams all the way around, but I wanted extra security. See my thread link below for pics.

Depends how much give is in the floor the stand and tank is sitting on. If its on a slab its no big deal. If its on a wood floor that gives it may cause the tank to slosh when peolple walk by depending on which way the joist are going.
