Lexan - safe?
Just want to be sure. I was given a small piece that I want to make a couple small bariers from and don't want something free to cause problems in the tank by leaching something?

Re: Lexan - safe?
Hello,
Lexan is the brand name of GE's polycarbonate. It is much tougher than acrylic and can be drilled and tapped if needed. Most general purpose grades are not very resistant to alcohol so don't use that to clean it. Weldon type solvents/glue for acrylics are not designed for use with it. It can be glued with silicone but works better if you rough up the edges with 60-80 grit sandpaper first. It is reef safe. HTH, Kevin
