filter media
i was goin to use bio balls but wanted to use sumthing cheaper! I was wondering if there is any alternative, i know my dad has used lava rock in the pond, and didnt know if that would leach chemicals in the tank, or any thing else thanks

![]() Bio balls will become a nitrate factory over time and just be a pain in the long run. The best filter media is good porous live rock and a good skimmer, think of a natural filter media that is part of an ecosystem.
